Dunkin' Donuts cause uproar with modified Liverpool badge

One of Liverpool’s sponsors has apologised to fans after manipulating the club’s badge in an ill-judged attempt to launch a Twitter campaign.

Dunkin’ Donuts tweeted a modified emblem which replaced the Hillsbrough eternal flames with cups of iced coffee, and changed “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to “America runs on Dunkin'”.

The offending tweet was removed, and an apology hastily issued.

The company quickly backtracked on the campaign with a spokesman saying no offence was meant, before confirming that the tweet has been removed and the campaign immediately halted.
