Felix Magath announces Fulham appointment on Facebook

As Fulham FC announced the appointment of former Bayern Munich coach Felix Magath the man himself was relaying the news to his fans in Germany.

A mere ten minutes after the news broke on the club’s official website their new manager posted a lengthy statement to his Facebook page, revealing to his 237,000 fans that he was off to London:

Magath has became a prolific user of Facebook since originally joining in November 2011 and he’s the first and only Barclays Premier League manager on the platform. He has continued to use his page to communicate with supporters even when under contract at Vfl Wolfsburg and Schalke 04. So will the pressures of the English top flight prevent him from posting? We certainly hope not.

The man that Felix has replaced was also social media savvy, with Rene Meulensteen becoming only the second ever Premier League manager to use Twitter when he got Cottagers job in late 2013.
