Home nations managers take part in live Google+ Hangout

In a worldwide first, all four home nations managers have taken part in a live Google+ Hangout at the company’s headquarters.

The free half-hour session, hosted by Sky Sports International presenter David Jones, saw Roy Hodgson, Gordon Strachan, Michael O’Neill, and Chris Coleman answer questions from fans live over the internet. Google invited fans to submit questions on Google+ in advance using the hashtag #FansForum.

Vauxhall – who sponsor all four home nations clubs – were the sponsors for this event, and the video is also now hosted on their Vauxhall Football YouTube channel.

Getting one international manager alone would have been a great coup for Google, but getting all four from England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland is a significant achievement. The event ran smoothly and the technology held up well – even allowing streaming in full 720p HD.

The fans chosen to ask the questions were the winners of Vauxhall Football’s Ultimate Fan competition.
