Manchester City launch City Woman web pages

Manchester City have marked International Women’s Day by launching a brand new section of their website.

According to the site, City Woman will bring female fans of the Blues exclusive behind-the-scenes content, interviews, competitions and more. The club have also launched an accompanying Twitter account, @CityWoman_MCFC.

While we’re sure a lot of thought has went into creating a dedicated portal for female supporters and that the club’s heart is in the right place we’re slightly concerned by the launch content. A rather substantial portion of the section is made up of recipes and fitness tips which makes the entire venture feel patronising and, yes, even a little sexist. We’d be interested to hear whether we’re the only ones who are a tad uncomfortable with content currently on the site.

You can check out City Woman yourself by going to www.mcfc.co.uk/City-Woman.
