Arsenal to let fans commentate on game via Twitter

11 May 2015, 17:05

Arsenal’s Premier League match against Swansea this evening will be part-commentated on by fans via a Twitter hashtag.

In a post on the club’s website they state:

The @Arsenal account will retweet fans throughout the 90 minutes so their commentary appears on our timeline. You can tweet your goal shouts, play-by-play updates, analysis, pictures… whatever you like. Be informative, be entertaining and you’ve got a chance of being retweeted. Just make sure you use #AFCFansTakeover – and turn on retweets!

It’s an interesting experiment, and looks like a great way to drive tweets during a match. The statement does note that they’ll still be providing their own match updates every 10 minutes though, as well as the usual pre-match build-up.
