Spurs send good luck message to Defoe during game

Usually when a player leaves a club that’s the end of their relationship – until the two sides meet, of course.

But when Tottenham Hotspur favourite Jermaine Defoe left the club at the beginning of the year to join MLS side Toronto, they had a surprise in store for his debut. During the match, as you can see from the video above, they sent a message to the advertising boards around the pitch wishing the forward good luck.

It’s a classy touch from Spurs and a great use of the boards.
