adidas give fans balls-eye view of action
We’ve covered the launch of the first Twitter account for a football before, but now adidas have innovated again through their brazuca football – fitting it with HD cameras and giving it to some of the game’s highest profile stars.
Dubbed ‘brazucam’, it even has its own blog which will be updated from today with pictures and videos from the specially-created football’s travels around the globe in the run up to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The current brazuca account has seen adidas give the ball its own distinct personality, with it attending carnivals in Brazil and being pictured with several of the athletes adidas endorses – and not all from the world of football.
It’s been a great campaign so far, with adidas injecting the ball with personality and humour. As the campaign builds towards this summer’s tournament expect to see even more famous faces making an appearance @brazuca.
Adidas have promised that the video series “will feature stars such as Xavi Hernandez, Dani Alves, Cristian Tello, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm and David Villa, as the films introduce the ‘all or nothing’ journey around the world and showcase brazucam’s technology”.
They’ll be releasing one video per week in the next seven weeks, with the first one from a behind-the-scenes training session featuring the Spanish national side. You can watch the introductory video below.
