Stokes suspended following Twitter outburst
Think before you tweet: four simple words, but words that didn’t cross Anthony Stokes’ mind at the weekend.
The Celtic forward is the latest to fall foul of social media and has been suspended for a fortnight following comments he made on Twitter over the weekend.
Stokes was left out of the team’s squad for the game against Inverness and took to Twitter to vent his frustration:
Buzzing to be brought all the way up to inverness with the team to sit in the stands today, lovely weather for it too…🙈😳

He then followed it up shortly after, by the looks of things to counter some of the criticism aimed at him by fans accusing him of being disrespectful:
Who gives a fuck about wages when your not playing games! It's all about playing and contributing not picking up a wage.

The striker is out of contract at the end of the season so could probably do with watching his conduct online.
Celtic won the game without Stokes, with manager Ronny Deila commenting afterwards when questioned about his players’ behaviour:
That showed a lack of respect to the other boys. We will handle that inside. We will see what we will do. It is not the best way to behave for your team-mates.
