Now you can use your profile picture to show support for Premier League teams on Facebook
Facebook is rolling out temporary profile pictures for sports teams, giving clubs the chance to allow fans to feature a frame designed by their favourite teams for a limited period.
The network rolled out its temporary profile picture feature a short while ago – coming into the mainstream in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Paris – and now sports teams and their fans can get involved.
Clicking the ‘try it’ button brings up a menu where you can select your frame from all of the clubs around the world who have signed up to use the new feature, as well as selecting any causes that are looking to raise awareness.
Right now Premier League clubs Arsenal, Aston Villa, Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, and West Ham United have joined Liverpool in offering a personalised frame for fans. Other leagues and competitions featured include Serie A, La Liga, the NBA, and MLB.
Users can opt to take a selfie for the new frames, select a past photo, or simply apply the frame to their current profile photo.
The new feature first started rolling out in October, when Facebook offered a selection of college American football teams the option let fans personalise their profile pictures temporarily.
