Multi-screen viewing set to soar during Brazil 2014

Supporters are set to embrace second screen viewing during the World Cup, with almost half saying that the ability to follow the tournament on their tablet or mobile would have a direct impact of their enjoyment of the event.

According to a recent survey conducted by YuMe and Instant.ly, 44 per cent of US football fans are looking forward to being able to watch matches on more than one device.

54 per cent of respondents also said they plan to watch highlights online, while 59 per cent said that being able to watch more than one match on multiple devices was important to them.

While this survey only studied the viewing habits of a US audience, last week’s BBC announcement suggests that they’re also expecting a big demand from British viewers for more content across more platforms.
