Fans invited to attend Fifa's Global Stadium
Football fans who couldn’t get tickets for the World Cup are being invited to enjoy the match experience at Fifa’s Global Stadium.
The digital hub will provide supporters with minute-by-minute coverage of goings on in Brazil and allow billions of fans to connect with one another during the tournament regardless of whether they’re on mobile or on computer. The platform will also give users the chance to vote for their Man of the Match and win the kick off ball from each game.
The Global Stadium is the latest part of a wider refresh of Fifa’s digital output which has seen a redesign of their official website.
Fifa have also announced details of the official World Cup hashtags. Alongside each match having its very own hashtag supporters will be encouraged to use #WorldCup and #Joinin when discussing the tournament.
Walter De Gregorio, FIFA Director of Communications & Public Affairs, said: “We aim to provide an all-round digital companion so that billions of fans can join in and share their excitement. Only the World Cup and digital can create this worldwide conversation.”
All of this news comes less than a year after the launch of two official World Cup Facebook pages, which was the first suggestion that the governing body were going to make a big play on social in the build up to Brazil 2014.
