WhatsApp team up with Spanish broadcaster
Spanish television network Mediaset has struck a groundbreaking agreement with WhatsApp which will see the broadcaster share exclusive World Cup content via messaging service.
Fans will also be able to return the favour by sending their own inspirational messages to the Spanish national team that will then be broadcast live during matches and and online. This is the latest announcement by Mediaset, who have already put in place a raft of measures to ensure that their coverage of Brazil 2014 is at the cutting edge of digital. In addition to an official World Cup website, which will off up to six streams of live and on-demand footage from the tournament, they have also launched a dedicated tournament app so that viewers can catch the action on the go.
