New data released by Twitter in the past week has seen Arsenal’s fans crowned as the most active on the network.

And Danny Welbeck’s winning goal against title-rivals Leicester City on 14 February has become the most tweeted about moment of the current season so far. Welbeck’s goal saw around 51,000 tweets posted online each minute, and currently half of the top 10 most tweeted moments this season have been about Arsenal.

This season’s surprise package, Leicester City, feature in three of the most discussed moments online. As well as Welbeck’s goal against them, they’re also in the top 10 for Jamie Vardy’s 11-game scoring run and for the moment Robert Huth scored against Manchester City.

Arsenal also top the table of the most tweeted-about matches this season: their 3-0 win against Manchester United saw 1.73million updates posted. Man United, Chelsea, Leicester, and Liverpool are the other clubs involved in the top five matches for this season.

The full top 10 most tweeted-about moments, as well as the top five most tweeted about matches, are available on the Mirror website.
